How to Make Detergent Powder at Home

Detergent powder at home is a very simple, cheap, and most effective powder. This homemade detergent powder saves money.  Everyone thinks that making detergent powder is a time-consuming and challenging process, but it is a straightforward, fast and inexpensive method to make it. Homemade detergent powder uses to wash and clean clothes without any stains.

To make Homemade detergent powder, I’m sharing two effective methods to make detergent powder at home. We can easily make detergent powder with washing soda, baking soda, rock salt, sodium sulfate and so on.

  • It saves time, money.
  • It cleans oil stains, grease, colour stains easily.

Homemade Detergent Powder Instructions:

I know two ways to make detergent powder at home easily, time-saving, money-saving methods. The two methods preparations are listed below.

Ingredients:-

  • Soda ash or washing soda-5 tablespoons
  • Slurry-2 tablespoons
  • STPP-2 tablespoons
  • TSP-2 tablespoons
  • SLES liquid-one tablespoon
  • CMC-one pinch
  • Sodium Sulphate-2 tablespoons
  • Colour Granules-one tablespoon
  • Perfume-one to two drops
  • Whitener or Tinopal-pinch

Preparation:-

  • Firstly, take a bowl and add four to 5 spoons of sodium carbonate. It works to clean well on stains on clothes.
  • Add two tablespoons of acid slurry into sodium carbonate and mix it with a spoon. The slurry is a cleaning agent.
  • After mixing the sodium carbonate and acid slurry, add two tablespoons of STPP into it and mix it well. STPP uses to remove egg stains.
  • Next, add two tablespoons of TSP into it and combine it well. TSP uses to remove oil stains on garments or clothes.
  • After that, add a pinch of CMC and one tablespoon of SLES liquid into the powder mixture and mix it well.
  • Further, add two tablespoons of sodium sulfate, and add one tablespoon of colour granules into it and mix it with your hand. Sodium sulfate works as a water softeners. Colour granules are used to show good looking and for good appearance.
  • Add one drop of perfume into it and mix it with your hand.
  • Next, add a pinch of whitener powder and mix it well. Whitener is using as to shine the clothes.
  • Finally, the detergent powder is ready to wash clothes.
  • It is one of the effective ways to make detergent powder at home.

Natural Homemade Detergent Powder:-

Ingredients:

  • Washing Soda-One cup
  • Baking Soda-Half cup
  • Rock salt-Half cup
  • Lemon Peels-Half cup
  • Essential oil- 2 tablespoons

Preparation:-

  • Firstly take lemon peels and dry them for two days and make a fine powder. Lemon peel powder acts as a natural cleaning agent.
  • Next, take a bowl and add a half cup of rock salt, and add two tablespoons of essential oil and mix it both. Rock salt is also named sodium chloride, and it softens the clothes. Essential oil acts as a natural deodorant, and it has anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal properties.
  • And both stir it well and dry it for twenty to thirty minutes and again stir it well.
  • Next, add a half cup of baking soda, and add one cup of washing soda into rock salt.  Baking soda is also named sodium bicarbonate, and it softens the water to wash the clothes effectively. Washing soda is called Sodium carbonate, and it is effectively working to clean the stains, oil stains and remove the grease on clothes.
  • Further, mix it well and add a half cup of lemon peel powder.
  • Finally, mix it all well and keep it in a plastic or glass jar.
  • It is another method to make detergent powder easily at home.
